NLCS Kobe brings a truly world-class, co-educational school experience to the vibrant international city of Kobe in the Kansai region of Japan.
Drawing on a distinguished 175-year heritage, we offer an international curriculum taught in English, with an absolute commitment to Japanese language teaching, and enriched with Japanese literature and culture. As a Japanese owned school in partnership with NLCS International this creates a learning experience that is unique to NLCS Kobe – academically ambitious, globally minded, and still deeply connected to our local setting.
The school’s aim is to provide an education that inspires a lifelong love of learning, equipping students with the knowledge, attitudes, and confidence to succeed. Our day school on Kobe’s Rokko Island is open for children in Grades 1-6, offering a warm, supportive, and inspiring start to their educational journey.
Our architecturally striking senior campus on Mount Rokko will open in 2028, initially for students in Grades 6 to 9, providing both day and boarding options. Designed to bring out the best in every learner, it will offer an exceptional environment in which young people can grow and thrive. The senior school will expand each year, culminating in 2031 when our first graduates progress to world-leading universities.
