Laughter, excitement and proud smiles filled the room as students from Pre-Grade 1 to Grade 3 took to the stage for this year’s School Drama Performance.
Over the course of the term, students worked hard to prepare for the production, learning songs, memorising lines and rehearsing movements as they brought their characters and stories to life. For many of our youngest performers, including members of our founding Pre-Grade 1 class who joined NLCS Kobe at the start of Term 3, this was their very first experience performing in front of an audience.

Using creative scene transitions inspired by television broadcasts, students invited the audience to use their imaginations as the story unfolded. Their confidence, enthusiasm and commitment were evident throughout the performance, creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for all who attended.
Beyond the final performance itself, the production provided valuable opportunities for students to develop a wide range of skills. Through rehearsals, they learned the importance of teamwork, communication, resilience and responsibility. As they practised together, students supported one another, overcame challenges and grew in confidence both on and off the stage.

The event was made even more special by the presence of families and members of staff, whose smiles and encouragement created a warm and celebratory atmosphere. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to parents and guardians for their support throughout the preparation process. Whether helping children practise lines at home, remember songs or build confidence ahead of the performance, their partnership played an important role in making the event such a success.

Most importantly, the performance was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the remarkable growth our students have shown throughout the year. From our youngest learners taking their first steps onto the stage to more experienced performers demonstrating increasing confidence and independence, every student should be proud of what they achieved.
At NLCS Kobe, opportunities such as the School Drama Performance form an important part of a holistic education, encouraging students to express themselves creatively, work collaboratively and develop the confidence to share their ideas with others. We are incredibly proud of all our performers and grateful to everyone who helped make the event such a memorable occasion.
