As NLCS Kobe’s first academic year drew to a close, families were welcomed into school for our Celebration of Learning – a special occasion dedicated to recognising and celebrating each student’s learning journey.

Throughout the school, colourful displays of student work transformed classrooms and corridors into vibrant galleries of inquiry, creativity and reflection. Families were invited to explore these learning spaces as students proudly shared the experiences, questions and discoveries that had shaped their year.

Rather than simply presenting what they had learned, students spoke confidently about how they had learned. They explained the questions they had investigated, the connections they had made, the challenges they had overcome and the ideas that had changed their thinking. Across every year group, students demonstrated an impressive ability to reflect on their learning and communicate their understanding with confidence and enthusiasm.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the day was seeing students take ownership of their learning. As they guided parents through classrooms and displays, they shared not only knowledge but also the thinking, curiosity and reflection that had shaped their journey. Their pride and excitement in being able to showcase their learning to their families was evident throughout the day.

The Celebration of Learning also highlighted the strong partnership between school and home that is central to an NLCS education. By inviting families into the learning process, the event created meaningful opportunities to celebrate students’ achievements together and to recognise the progress each child has made throughout the year.

As NLCS Kobe concludes its first academic year, the Celebration of Learning served as a fitting milestone. It was not simply a showcase of completed work, but a celebration of curiosity, growth and the joy of learning itself. We are incredibly proud of every student for the confidence, resilience and enthusiasm they have shown throughout this remarkable first year, and we thank our families for their continued encouragement and support.
