NLCS’s newly formed football team celebrated a winning debut on 14 December where they showed outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride.
Our newly formed football team reached an exciting milestone as we played our first tournament on Sunday 14 December against players from the English Football Academy, marking an important step forward in our developing sports programme. Under the coaching guidance of Mr Chamberlain and Mr Watanabe, our students approached this new challenge with enthusiasm and determination, representing the school admirably and winning an impressive 10 matches in all.
At NLCS, the teaching of sport helps to instil both creativity and discipline in our children, and through friendly yet competitive fixtures such as this, we hope to inspire students to continue to strive for excellence both on and off the pitch.
The matches proved to be a fantastic experience for everyone involved and players from both sides, cheered on by supporters, demonstrated impressive effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We are delighted NLCS’s hard work paid off with a series of strong performances witnessed alongside wonderful encouragement from parents and school staff, including Principal Mr Williams who came along to cheer from the sidelines.
This positive start is just the beginning for the team. With more fixtures and opportunities on the horizon, we look forward to continuing to build our football programme and offering even more sporting experiences for our students. Our congratulations go to all the teams who played; it was a thoroughly enjoyable event.
