“Kaizen” means continuous improvement — the idea that learning is not about reaching a single destination, but about continuing to grow throughout the journey. As each student develops not only academically, but also socially and personally, our School Values provide a framework to guide them along the way.

At NLCS Kobe, KAIZEN represents six values that are central to our school community:

Kindness — Treating others with care and compassion

Achievement — Working towards and achieving your goals

Integrity — Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching

Zeal — Approaching everything with enthusiasm and energy

Excellence — Continually striving for the highest standards

Nurture — Caring for yourself and those around you

These values come to life across every aspect of school life. From students supporting one another in the classroom to taking responsibility through activities and performances, outdoor learning and projects within the wider community, KAIZEN is something our students practise and experience every day.

At NLCS Kobe, we believe education is not only about what students learn, but also about who they become. Through KAIZEN, students learn to reflect, grow and embrace new challenges, while developing the confidence and character to make a positive contribution to the communities around them.
