NLCS Kobe was delighted to welcome students back to our Rokko Island Campus on 24 August, marking the beginning of the 2026–27 academic year and our second year as an international school in Kobe.
The first morning of a new school year is always a special one. Teachers and staff gathered to welcome students as they arrived on campus, with returning students excited to reconnect with friends after the summer break and new students meeting their classmates for the first time.
This year, our community also welcomed six new teachers, bringing new experiences, perspectives and enthusiasm to NLCS Kobe. Students had the opportunity to meet their new teachers as they settled back into school life and looked ahead to the year to come.
Among those welcoming students on their first morning was Thomas Holmes, our new Head of Junior School. With 12 years of experience in international education across Poland and Vietnam, as well as teaching experience in London, Thomas joins NLCS Kobe with a passion for building strong school communities where children and staff can thrive.
Students from Pre-Grade 1 through to Grade 7 now begin a new year of learning together at our Rokko Island Campus. As NLCS Kobe enters its second academic year, we look forward to another year filled with curiosity, challenge, friendship and opportunities for every student to grow.
We are excited to see what the 2026–27 academic year will bring and to continue building the NLCS Kobe community together.
